Leith Chooses gives the people of Leith the opportunity to vote on how money from the City of Edinburgh Council’s Community Grants Fund is spent in their area.

Help us secure £4,900 in funding from Leith Chooses so that we can deliver over 750 FREE, hot and nutritious two-course meals for older people in Leith with low incomes who need our help across the dark winter months ahead.

We set up Meals on Wheels through the pandemic and so far, we have delivered over 14,000 hot meals across North Edinburgh. All meals are freshly cooked by our professional team in our community kitchen. They are delivered hot and ready to eat by our team with the additional benefit of a vital ‘check-in’ and a safe doorstep chat from a familiar friendly face.

Mid-pandemic I was taken into hospital and was diagnosed with stomach cancer, my weight dropped to just 8 stone but is now back to over 11st thanks to the amazing cooking which has given me inspiration to start eating properly again. I now have to energy to go out on walks, and it has given me a new lease of life which I am very grateful for.  It has helped me enormously. The tasty food always puts a smile on my face. I'm going to kick this cancer in to touch and your meals have been a big part of that.
